Baby Z on Valentine's Day . . .

So . . . the version didn't work. The doctor was amazing and he tried and tried, but to no avail. That girl was very stubborn!! At this point we are tentatively scheduled for a c-section on February 14. I was a little bummed, but with the help of family and friends I am seeing the positive side of having the surgery. Thank you for your positive thoughts in trying to get her to turn. The most important thing is that she is healthy when she arrives in two weeks!

24 days away!

The baby room is pretty much ready to go. We made a trip to Babies R Us today to pick up some crib sheets and a few other odds and ends. It was a crazy scene. We're going to make a point to avoid that place on the weekends in the future.

Baby Z is still breech despite all of our efforts. Taryn is scheduled for an external version this Wednesday. The doctor will do an ultrasound and if it looks like she might be able to turn, he'll go ahead with the procedure. People have been telling us that Dr. Brandon is the best man for the job in Seattle. If she doesn't budge, we may have to go ahead and schedule a caesarian. If a c-section is needed, it would probably happen around the 14th or 15th of February. Whoah, that's soon.

Thanks for the wonderful baby showers!

Last weekend was very busy for us. On saturday we had our first baby shower at our friends Paula and Christopher's home in North Seattle. What fun we had! We ate a little, painted some onesies, and caught up with friends. What a great excuse to party!

The very next day, my good friend Ronni threw me a shower for my friends at Temple Beth Am to attend. That was also a lot of fun. We sing together in the choir, but we hardly ever get to schmooze! Thanks to all who attended and partied with me.

On to more serious news . . . for those of you who don't know, we have been trying to get Baby Z to turn upside down for a few weeks now, with no luck so far. At 36 weeks we still have a little time left, but the next step is to have a procedure done in the hospital called an "external version" where they (doctors) push down on my belly to get the baby to turn. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? I'll do anything to prevent having to have a C-section. Please send Baby Z positive energy!

Baby Z's Room: Stage Two

I have spent the past few days painting and assembling furniture and now the room is looking pretty good. We made a trip to IKEA last week and picked up a crib, dresser, and nightstand. Everything was going smoothly until I found a cracked board in the dresser parts. We're going to have to make another trip down there to exchange the board and pick up a missing screw.

The cats love the new room and have been spending a lot of time in there. They especially like the glider.
