Elana's Sunday

We had a nice Sunday today. We gave Elana a bath, which she enjoyed. We made a trip to REI and to VegFest. Elana slept most of the afternoon - she was very cooperative!

Easter Brunch

Elana and I went to our friends' Paula and Christopher's house for brunch on Sunday. As you can see, she made lots of new friends!

On another note, this has been the first week that Elana and I have been on our own (no daddy or grandparents to help). So far it has been going pretty good. We have been going for walks and even to the gym!! I think that as long as i schedule daily outings, we will both continue to be very happy together!

More Zeichner Pics

We had a wonderful time with the Zeichner family. Many thanks to them for the help they provided us during their visit. It has been difficult without them! Here are some more pics from their time here. The last few are of an evening out at Chief Sealth High School for their annual Tamale Dinner. Recognize anyone in the mariachi suits??

It's bath time!

Andrea and I gave Elana a bath this morning, and it was the first time that she didn't scream bloody murder. Someone recommended that we use a space heater to heat the air around the tub, and she was so relaxed and content that she didn't want to get out. You can see how much she has grown recently!

Exaustion

Well, soon Noah will be going back to work and I will have the responsibility of keeping up the blog (among other things), so I thought I would get a head start. Overall, things have been going pretty well. As far as my healing goes, I feel like a million bucks. I have the doctor's permission to go back to the gym after this week, which is very welcome news. As far as sleep goes, we had been doing pretty good until elana was diagnosed with an infection that has given her a nasty diaper rash. You can tell she is pretty uncomfortable a lot of the time. Last night she slept about 3-4 hours (which means we slept about that much too). I knew this time would come when she would stop sleeping all of the time and start crying a lot of the time!

Sorry no pics this time, but there will be some soon as the second set of grandparents will be coming to town on friday . . .

Elana's First Hike

It was a beautiful day today in Seattle - 55 and sunny. We went for a nice walk in Carkeek Park this afternoon. Elana loves being in the Moby Wrap.

Babysitters

Taryn and I actually went to a movie today while Jeff and Judy stayed with Elana. We saw The Business of Being Born, a new documentary about the U.S. birthing industry. It was an eye-opening film - anyone who is planning to have a baby in the near future should see it.
