Noah left for Guatemala on Monday night :( I have been trying to plan activities for every day so that we don't get stuck in the house AND so mama gets to meet up with other parents and have adult conversations! Yesterday we met Leslie and Marlowe at the Children's Museum at the Seattle Center. WOW what a difference from the last time we went--now that she can walk, I followed her around and let her decide where we were going next. She loved it. I am surely going to be going back there at least a few more times while Noah is away . . .
We had a nice Father's Day. Taryn cooked a delicious breakfast and then we went to a festival where Taryn's percussion ensemble was performing. Elana had a great time and even got a fire fighter's hat out of the deal.
Yesterday we took Elana to the Fremont Fair to see the Solstice Parade. There is no event like it anywhere as far as I know. She was captivated the whole time. Here is a link to some photos of the parade if you are not familiar with it.
We had a great time at Charles, Joy, and Max's BBQ today. Towards the end of the day we had a little jam session for all of the kids there. Elana's request was Old MacDonald, her current favorite.
